Why you should let your dog sniff on walks

Sniffing is important for all dogs, it is how they see the world. They notice subtleties in the environment through smell. A new perfume, person, cat, or another dog that has been there previously.

They show this well as medical detection dogs too, noticing changing in human scent which depict changes in health.

Sniffing is good for dogs and it is also a part of their communication too.

Stop and smell the roses is a fab old saying and worth doing, your dog will be more content and ultimately you go on walks for your dog so why not let your dog have a sniffing walk, at least some of the time.

Just wonder along together, not rushing or having to get some where or to a specific mile point, but just enjoying each others company and being outside.
